Jack Bridges obituary

Jack Lee Bridges, age 86, passed away peacefully, Friday, February 14, 2025 and returned to his Lord and Savior after a long struggle with cancer.
Jack was born on October 9, 1938 to George and Ruth Bridges. In 1957 he was married to Karen Sue Schellhase, and they shared 66 years of love and companionship.
Jack is survived by his children, Cynthia (David) Stein, Thomas (Jill) Bridges, Curtis (Lisa) Bridges, Rodney Bridges, Bradley (Shaun) Bridges; 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; his siblings, Shirley (Steve) Clark, sister-in-law Barb Bridges, Joyce (Ron) Borglum, Kevin (Lori) Bridges. Preceded in death by his wife Karen, parents, George and Ruth, and brother Fred Bridges.
Jack, or the Jack of all trades, as we called him, lived a life marked by faith, love and service.  He actively participated in his church community. He served his country in the Army. Throughout his life he participated in many volunteer opportunities. In his working life he had many occupations. He retired from his business in financial planning but still stayed busy in a part time retirement job.
Jack loved the outdoors, mostly on the golf course. He loved camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, fishing, and hunting. He also loved his dogs. He was always happy to give anyone a helping hand. He had such a positive disposition and was very optimistic.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life service for Jack will be held on March 29, 2025 at 11 a.m., at Valley View Assembly of God Church, 305 Grant St., Lake City, MN, 55041.  Lunch will follow the service.
