Jeanne Judd Obituary

Jeanne Judd, 96, of Red Wing, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018 at St. Crispin Living Community – Seminary Home where she was a resident.

She was born Feb. 12, 1922 in Lake City to Emery and Agnes (Richardson) DeMarce. She grew up in Lake City and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1941. She attended Minneapolis Business College and went on to work as a bookkeeper at Marigold Dairy where she met and later married Frances Judd.  

She was a strong woman and hardworking mother who was proud of her family. She was also witty, loved to have fun and she enjoyed a good party. She liked playing cards and had a dedicated group of friends she played cards with.  Jeanne taught herself to sew and made many dolls and baby blankets for any little ones in the family who needed them.  She also enjoyed collecting angels and thimbles.

Jeanne is survived by four children, Vaughn (Audrey) Berg of Mendota Heights; Kirby (Bev) Berg of Red Wing; Lynda Hart of Red Wing; Danny (Jean) Judd of Grantsburg, Wis.; three step-children and their families; former daughter-in-law Jeanne Berg; many grandchildren; great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; several sisters and brothers-in-law; and many friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Frances, four brothers, two sisters, a son-in-law, one grandchild, her parents and former husband Phalon Berg.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing with Debby Bradley officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial at Bethany Cemetery in Lake City. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneral.com.
