Julie (Packer) Petersen obituary
Julie Beth (Packer) Petersen, 65 of Wabasha, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Mayo Clinic - St. Marys Campus, Rochester, Minn.
Our beautiful mother, Julie Beth Packer, having the distinction of being the first baby born in the new year in Winona County on January 1, 1959, Julie came into this world with her name in headlines.
She left us peacefully on October 10, 2024 knowing that she was surrounded by her four daughters: Angela, Courtney, Samantha and Sarah. Julie‘s children and grandchildren were her number one priority in life and her loyalty to those she loved was second to none.
She was blessed with having no filters, so whether you liked it or not, whether you wanted it or not, you could always expect the absolute truth from her. Whatever curveball life threw Julie‘s way, and there were many, Julie always picked herself up and carried on with dignity and grace. We will forever miss those endearing qualities.
She was a faithful Green Bay Packers fan. She loved to cook and was best known for her soups and homemade dips. Her greatest pleasures in life she found from the simplest things in life. A simple $20 pair of slippers from Walmart was the best thing since sliced bread to her! Her eyes would light up in excitement if given even a simple hand me down. Our beautiful mother, she will be so deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Archie Packer, and Jean Sorensen, Bill Sorensen, brother Larry Packer, sisters-in-law Pat Packer and Barb Packer, brother-in-law Roger Rabe and nephew Jamie Packer.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Angela Lynn Petrich-Alvarado (Maricella Alvarado), Courtney Jean, Samantha Jo, and Sarah Beth Petersen; as well as her six grandchildren, Cameron Joseph Petersen, Izabella Olsen, Alexis Petersen, Emily Roller, Andee and Charlee Brown.
She is also survived and will always be missed by siblings, Lyle (Kathy) Packer, Janalee (Roy) Pelowski, Sandra Riess, Jeff Packer (Laurie Camazine), David (Carol) Packer, Kevin Packer (Michael Hill), Lisa Packer (Don Aitken) and Chad (Kecia) Sorensen.
She had a very special way of making a house always feel like you were at home. We could not have asked for a better cheerleader in our lives. Rest in peace, beautiful Mother.
