Katharine Moore Obituary

Katharine A. Moore, 98, of Rochester, passed away on Tuesday, Nov, 5, 2019 at Madonna Towers Benedict House.
    Katharine Anna Moore was born May 15, 1921 in Lake City to Fred and Catherine (Gerken) Heitman.  She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Lake City.  Katharine was united in marriage to Jerome Moore on March 9, 1941 in Lake City.  She worked as a personnel manager at Woolworth’s in Rochester for 34 years retiring in 1984.  
    Katharine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Senior Citizens, Women of Trinity and Thursday Bible Brunch.  In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, fishing and traveling.  Her hobbies included bird watching, flowers, reading and listening to music.  
    She is survived by her son, Dennis (Nancy) Moore of Rochester; three granddaughters, Kerry Moore (Ed Gardner) of Denver, Colo., Krystal Motley of Rochester and Julie Moore of Seattle, Wash.; five great-grandchildren, Amelie, Will, Kasey, Ryan and Kadence; and great-great-granddaughter, Juniper.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerome and brother, Fred Heitman.  
    A funeral service for Katharine will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery.
