Kaye Wempner

Kaye Wempner went to join her family in heaven on Feb. 28, 2019.  She left us at home in her favorite spot surrounded by words of love.
Kaye was born May 4, 1928 in Gillford Township to John and Katherine (Klennert) Miller.   She grew up in Lake City and made it her lifetime home.  She met the love of her life Henry at a dance in Theilman and they were married in 1957.  He passed away in 1986.
She worked as a telephone switchboard operator at Dwelle Telephone in Lake City and continued there through the multiple phone company changes, retiring as a plant clerk.  After her retirement she worked at Coast-to-Coast Hardware in Lake City and as a lunch lady at Bluff View Elementary. She loved her family, dancing, ice skating, roller skating, sitting on the deck in the sunshine, watching the birds, and word find puzzles.
Left to carry on her legacy of love and laughter are her daughter, Kathy Lofberg of Lake City; son, Lonnie Wempner  (Theresa Fait) of Vero Beach, Fla.,; her forever daughter,  Connie Wempner of Rochester; grandchildren, Joe Lofberg (Katie Stypulkowski) of Manitou Springs, Colo. and Katie Wempner; great-granddaughter, Eloise of Rochester.; sisters, Doris Moyer of Lake City, Marge Myer of Wabasha; brother Butch and sister-in- law, Mary Lou Befort of Arlington, Texas; nieces and nephews,  Joe, Mary Kay, Theresa, Tom, Tena, Erwin, John, Steve, Matt, Jenny, Marlene, Marie and Arthur and spouses and all of their children she loved so much. As well as all those whose hearts she touched. She was met in heaven by her beloved husband, Hank; her parents; nephews, Mike and Tim; and brothers-in-law, Miles and Carl. As well as the souls of all the lives she touched.
Per her wishes, funeral services will be “when the snow is gone!"  A Memorial Service will be Saturday, May 4, at 11 a.m. at St Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City.  Friends may call one hour before the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to St Mary of the Lake or charity of donor’s choice. Online condolences may be placed at www.mahn familyfuneralhome.com.
