Kip Edquist Obituary

Kip Mikal Edquist, 69, of Red Wing, died Thursday, May 7, 2020.             He was born Feb. 19, 1951 to Carl “Bob” and Donna Mae (Nord) Edquist. He grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1970. He then moved to Jackson, Minn. where he attended appliance repair school. On Nov. 23, 1974 he married Susan Anderson in Lake City. The couple made their home in Red Wing where they raised two sons. He worked for Larry’s Appliance and then Gemini in Cannon Falls for 35 years, retiring this past January. He was a member of the BPOE 845 Elks Club and First Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, going up north to Hayward, and gardening. He loved getting together for “socials” with friends and he could often be found riding his tractor aka “Kip’s Kubota.” He will be remembered fondly for his penchant for camo and Old Style. He loved to stay busy and he loved playing with his grandson, Hunter.
    He is survived by his wife, Susan; sons, Travis (Angela) and Ryan (Annalise); grandson, Hunter; sister, Cindy (Fred) Stumpf; sisters-in-law, Carol (Roger) Pollei and Jane (Gary Bremer) Busch; brother-in-law, David (Eda) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Morris and Marcella Anderson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gloria and Robert Beaman and brother-in-law, Donald Busch.
    A private family service will be held. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Arrangements with the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
