Larry Mayfield Obituary

Larry Mayfield was called home to his heavenly Father on Sunday, Nov. 19, at the age of 77. He fought a long battle with several health issues.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Sandra Mayfield (Huehn).  They met and instantly fell in love. They united in marriage on July 13, 1975.
Larry also leaves behind two daughters, Cathy (Eric) Edblom of Lake City and Jeanne (Peter) Cook of Red Wing; four grandchildren, Hunter and Cody Briggs of Lake City and Makiah and Sabrina Cook of Red Wing; one brother, Paul Mayfield; three sisters, Barbara Burris, Kathy Ward and Judy King,  all of North Carolina; and many nieces, nephews, and great- nieces and great-nephews.
He was a loving, wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. There was nothing he would not do for his family and friends. He was so proud of his grandchildren. He loved hearing their stories of hunting, fishing and school activities. He thought they were the best.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one brother, one sister and four brothers-in-law.
Larry was a man that wanted to help everyone. He could do anything and fix everything he put his mind to.  He spent many years in the construction business with Kenny Ahlers and Dan Pritzl. He also drove truck for Wabasha Sand Gravel and Ready Mix and delivered apples for Courtier until his health forced him to retire.
A funeral service will be Monday, Nov. 27, at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Lake City, with Rev. Phillip Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be Sunday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
