Lois Haglund obituary

    Lois Catherine Haglund, 97, of Pine Island, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 14, 2022, at the Pine Haven Care Center.
    Lois was born March 24, 1925, in Lake City to Wallace and Helen (Schumann) Aitken. Lois grew up in Lake City and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943. On December 29, 1944, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Haglund. Lois was baptized, confirmed and married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City. Lloyd and Lois made their home in Lake City until 1950, when they moved to Oronoco. They farmed with Lloyd’s father, until they bought the farm in rural Oronoco. They moved to Pine Island in the fall of 1990. Lloyd died September 1, 1995. Lois was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oronoco, where she also served as president of the ladies’ aid for 14 years and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Lois was also a member of the Oronoco VFW Auxiliary and the Oronoco Senior Citizens Center. Lois enjoyed baking, scrapbooking, doing embroidery and crossword puzzles. Lois was a hardworking, feisty lady with a soft and loving side. Lois was a woman of God, and her faith was very important to her. Above all, Lois loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
    Lois is survived by her daughter, Maxine (Jim) Gray of Zumbrota; sons, Ronald (Judy) Haglund of Oronoco and Roger (Marie) Haglund of Pine Island; son-in-law, Chuck Stucky of Pine Island; sister, Ruth Mitchell of Red Wing; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 13 great, great-grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; daughters, Marilyn Tucker and Marcia Stucky; granddaughter, Melissa Stucky; two brothers, Warren and Marlyn Aitken and two sisters, Arlene Clare and Joyce Baringer.
    A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church, 45 1st Ave. NE, Oronoco, MN 55960. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m until time of the service. Rev.
