Loren Walters obituary

Loren “Buster” Walters, 73, of Lake City formerly of Byron, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Mayo St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Loren was born on March 23, 1952 to Richard and Bernice (Copp) Walters in Lake City, Minn. He was joined in marriage with Donna Copeman on May 17, 1986. After graduating high school, he went on to get a degree in Chemistry at St. Paul College. He worked in Metallurgy in Lake City and later in the food industry in Rochester. Prior to his retirement he worked for H&R Block doing taxes. Loren was always very involved in his church and taught Sunday School for years.
Loren is survived by his loving wife Donna, of 39 years; his sisters, Bonnie (Dan) Boots, Pat (Dennis) Callinan, Barb (Rex) Novek and Diane (Greg) Keyport; sister-in-law Colleen (John) Penrose, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who all knew him as “Uncle Buster.”
Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City with Rev. Andrew Petter officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City. Online condolences may be left on www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
