Lyle Schumacher obituary

Lyle Clarence Schumacher, 91, died peacefully on November 17, 2024, surrounded by the love of his wife and daughters. He was born May 5, 1933, in Red Wing, Minn., to his parents, Clarence and Meta (Wohlers) Schumacher.

He refrained from limiting his daughters’ aspirations, but rather encouraged them to achieve anything they desired. Lyle grew up on a farm in Lake City, Minn.; excelled academically; honorably served his country in the Army; was generous; and was always quick to help those in need. He had a strong work ethic and was an inspector for decades at Central Research Laboratories in Red Wing, Minn. Lyle loved the Lord, his family, the outdoors, athletics, smart humor, and chocolate.
He will forever live in the hearts of his survivors including his wife of 66 years, Ardis; daughters, Susan Hilgenkamp (Todd) and Dr. Sandra Schumacher; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren: Nathan Hilgenkamp (Adalee), Jacie, Callie; Andrew Hilgenkamp; Joe Hilgenkamp (Liana), McCoy, Liv, Shepard; Kate King (Andrew), Ella, Caleb, Miles.
