Michelle McCann Obituary

Michelle L. McCann, 51, of Golden Valley, Minn., formerly of Lake City, passed away Monday, May 18, 2020 at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, from complications of the COVID-19 virus.
    Michelle was born June 15, 1968 in Rochester to John and Mary (Jasperson) McCann. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City in 1986. She attended The College of St. Teresa in Winona for two years and completed her four year degree at St. Mary’s University in Winona, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1990. Michelle had a love of music and sang in the high school choir, church and as a member of St. Teresa's chamber choir, where she had the privilege to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Michelle was also quite an accomplished pianist in her younger years.
    In her more recent years, Michelle was proud to have served as resident council president at her care center residence, where she had made many friends with staff and residents. She enjoyed playing bingo and the fellowship that came with that. Michelle loved collecting stuffed animal comfort companions and was proud of every one. She will be laid to rest with her most special Spunky.
    Michelle is survived by her mother, Mary McCann of Lake City; sisters, Cynthia (William) Rudeen of Bird Island, Minn. and Katherine (Bryce) Hinck of Lake City; and a brother, Daniel John McCann of Mora, Minn. She was preceded in death by her father, John McCann.
