Nancy Swanson obituary

Nancy Irene Swanson, 73, of Lake City, passed away at her home in Lake City on Saturday, August 19, 2023. She was born August 29, 1949, in Minneapolis to Duane and Margaret (Conklin) Keck. Nancy attended school in the Twin Cities and graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall. On September 2, 1967, she married the love of her life, Wayne Swanson in St. Paul.
Nancy worked as a waitress her entire lifetime, and most known for working at the Galley Restaurant in Lake City for 35 years. She loved to cook, read, shop at thrift stores, and going to the casino. Nancy especially loved to fish, and spending time on Leech Lake with her Leech Lake family and friends. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Swanson, Sr. of Lake City; children, Cheri (Brian) Glander of Lake City, Wayne (Kim) Swanson, Jr. of Dodge Center, Lee (Jeannie) Swanson of Red Wing, and Clayton Swanson of Rochester; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Dennis (Sharon) Keck, Bruce York, Tanya Amsler, Donnette Raasch, and Sheryl. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Kevin, and a sister Dawn.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, August 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel.
