Nancy Wilking obituary
Nancy May Wilking, 87, of Eagan, Minnesota and formerly of Millville and Lake City, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, at M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minnesota with her family by her side.
Nancy was born May 9, 1938, in Rochester, Minnesota to Elmer and Lucy (Springer) Martin. She grew up attending School District #89 at Millville and graduated from Elgin High School in Elgin, Minnesota in 1956. On June 25, 1960, she married the love of her life, Milton Wilking in Millville. He died December 22, 1999.
The Wilkings resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico from 1960 to 1962; in Mankato, Minnesota from 1962 to 1964; in Canton, Minnesota from 1964 to 1966; and in LeRoy, Minnesota from 1966 to 1970. They then moved to Millville.
While living in Millville they were members of Grace United Church of Christ where Nancy was active in the women’s group, children’s Sunday School and served as the church organist for many years. Nancy graduated from Rochester Junior College in 1957 and was employed as a secretary by Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing from 1957 to 1960, University of New Mexico from 1960 to 1961 and by Thrivent Insurance in Plainview from 2004 to 2013. Nancy was a homemaker and mother while working and living on the family farm in Millville.
In 2005 Nancy moved to Lake City, where she volunteered at various places in Lake City and was a member of First Lutheran Church. In 2021 she moved to Eagan to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. Nancy was most recently a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Inver Grove Heights. Nancy enjoyed spending time outdoors, bird watching, gardening, making quilts and traveling. She always loved spending time with her family and friends and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.
Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Shari (Mike) Myszka of Eagan and Bonnie Penn of Inver Grove Heights; two grandchildren, Alexandra Penn and Samuel Myszka. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The memorial service for Nancy will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, at Grace United Church of Christ in Millville with Pastor Doris Ruben officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Millville Cemetery in Millville. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
