Perry Lutjen Obituary
Perry R. Lutjen, 62 of Lake City, died unexpectedly on May 25, 2019 on his farm in rural Lake City.
Perry was born Dec. 14, 1956 in Lake City to Eugene and Katherine Lutjen. Perry was baptized on Dec. 30, 1956 and confirmed on May 16, 1971 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City. He graduated on June 6, 1975 from Lincoln High School in Lake City and started farming with his father until purchasing the farm at age 20. On Jan. 14, 1978, Perry and Tavana Wiebusch were married at St. John’s, they later divorced. Perry’s love of the land, the fresh country air, and the independence farming offered, fulfilled many of his dreams. He had a big heart, and was always there to help anyone in a time of need. Perry couldn’t have been more proud of his children and grandchildren, he enjoyed riding his Harley, and the camaraderie of his many friends in the rural community. He had a special place in his heart for the Zumbro Falls community, or as he would say “The Falls”. Perry will be forever missed by many.
He is survived by two sons, Josh (Bobbi) and their children Deidre, Corbin, and Carter of Lake City and Richard (Brittney) and their children Kiptyn, Griffin and Elin of Red Wing; one daughter, Whitney (Thomas) Nass and their son Jameson of Faribault; two brothers, Thomas (Mary) and Mark of Lake City; and one sister, Carmen (Scott) Hannon of Winona. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brothers, and sister, Connie.
Funeral service will be Thursday, June 6, at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Lake City with Pastor Tim Ehling officiating. A gathering and reception will then follow at Perry’s farm starting at 4 p.m.
