Randy Getschmann obituary

Randy Michael Getschmann, 56, of Lake City passed away early Tuesday morning, March 7, 2023 at St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester (surrounded by family and friends). He was born December 19, 1966 to Herbert and Vernis Getschmann.
He was a lifelong resident of Lake City and a graduate of Lincoln High School. He worked the family farm, Huettl’s Meats and later for Kehren Construction, followed by RW Construction, Lake City Custom Concrete and most recently Lake City Recycling. Early on he advanced in the art of Kung Fu. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, and fisherman. He loved to take his nieces and nephews fishing, camping and ginseng hunting. He was an all-around survivalist and loved nature. He loved spending time with his family and was always ready to give a helping hand.
Randy is survived by two sisters, Karen (Rick) Thorie and Kathy (Raymond) Lafferty; one brother, Charles Getschmann. Further survived by many nieces and nephews, and Tyler Lindrud, who is like a son to him, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Gary Getschmann and one sister, Barbara Getschmann.
His sense of adventure, humor and love of family and friends will deeply be missed.
A graveside funeral will be held Friday, March 10 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lake City. A celebration of life will be held at B-Wells in Frontenac at noon following burial.
