Raymon Bahmer Obituary

Raymon August Bahmer, born Feb. 2, 1951, died Dec. 13, 2017.
    Survived by daughter, Rosalie Gale (Doug); sister, Jeannie Gast (Ron), brothers, Marly (Cindy) and Kenny (Anne); sister-in-law, Marina Bahmer; numerous nieces and nephews; companion, Lisa Gregory; and his eight pound side-kick, Shorty. Ray was preceded in death by parents, Leonard (Bud) Sr. and Florence (Flossie) (Schmitkunz); brothers, Leonard, Jr. and Ron, and sister, Sherrie Blom.
    Long time resident and business owner in both Hopkins and Lake City. A professional woodworker who was well known for painting the horses on the historic Valley Fair carousel that he rode as a child at Excelsior Amusement Park. He was an avid sailor, USCG captain and always enjoyed a home improvement project as well as cooking and canning. Ray was always ready to share a good joke, funny story or his favorite new recipe. He was a collector of classic cars, antiques and artwork. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
    A celebration of his life will be held in Hopkins, Minn. on Saturday, March 3, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the American Legion. Memorials preferred to American Lung Association or MinPin Rescue.
