Raymond Wiech obituary

    Raymond George Wiech, 75, of Lake City, passed away at his home in Lake City on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Ray was born on April 21, 1947, to Victor and Marie Wiech at the Lake City Hospital. He attended McCahill Grade School and graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City. Ray proudly served in the Minnesota National Guard. He married Diane Gerken and later divorced. Later he married the love of his life Sally Jean Kruger and Sally passed away in 2002.
    Ray worked various jobs in and around Lake City and Minneapolis. He owned and operated Wiech Drywall for 35 years before his retirement. He proudly served in the Minnesota National Guard.
    Ray is survived by his son, Chad Raymond Wiech and granddaughter, Marie Wiech; stepdaughter, Kelly (Steve) Nevin; three step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Wiech of Montana, Steven (Brenda) Wiech of Mazeppa, Vernon Wiech of Illinois, and Eugene Wiech of Michigan; two sisters, Marilyn (Cortlen) Hauge of California, and Marjorie (Jerry) Dunbar of Lake City. He also leaves behind many good friends, he loved you all. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and wife Sally.
    Ray’s quote the day he passed away: “It’s been a hell of a ride, but it’s time to take a new road.”
    A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
