Richard Rolph obituary

Richard Jerome Rolph passed away Friday, May 28, 2021, at the REM house in Red Wing, Minn. He was born in Mountain Lake, Minn. on April 3, 1967, to Jerome and Marian (Mathieu) Rolph.  Rick attended school in Lake City, Minn and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1988. After high school, Rick worked at the Wabasha Day Activity Center until 2008 and made wonderful friends there. He was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church and attended services with his family.
Rick lived with his mother for 50 years until she went into the care center. He then moved to the Red Wing REM house in 2017 and received friendship and kind treatment from his care givers and housemates. Rick enjoyed puzzling, brightly colored theme socks, and cow décor!  In Ricky’s world, all things had their place and he made sure they were organized.
Rick is survived by his five sisters, Deborah (Pat) Mc-Knite of Rochester, Theresa (Gary) Davidson of Millville, Barbara (Lee) Partington of Lake City, Karen (Jeff) Ryan of Beloit, Wisc., Sandra Rolph-Bouher (Rob Bouher) of Vine Grove, Ky.; two brothers, Patrick (Carol) Rolph of Rice, Minn., Andrew (Dawn) Rolph of Lake City; and 13 nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Marian Rolph.
Our family was blessed with having Rick in our lives for 54 years. Throughout that time, Rick had so many dedicated, kind, and thoughtful people help him on his life journey. Thank you to his teachers, care givers, doctors, nurses, family, and friends that cared for him and made his life a good one.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Father Matthew Fasnacht officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery – West Albany in rural Millville. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church. A Celebration of Life will follow the burial at the home of Barb and Lee Partington, 30490 335th St. Way, Lake City.
