Robert Anderson Obituary
Robert (Bob) Anderson, 52, of Maple Springs, rural Lake City, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at his home after a long fight with cancer.
He was born June 8, 1966 in Worthington, Minn. to Verle and Phyllis (Campbell) Anderson. They moved to Red Wing in 1967, when Robert was one and a half years old. He was a graduate of Red Wing High School. He went on to Winona Vo-Tech for motorcycle mechanics and graduated with honors from the auto body program.
After being together for nine years, he married Sharon Lanches on April 19, 2017 in Rochester. He retired from Rich’s Auto Body Shop in Goodhue, Feb. 12, 2018 due to illness. Bob worked there two months short of 20 years.
Robert was a motorcycle enthusiastic and enjoyed fabricating and rebuilding motorcycles, scooters, etc. He also restored classic cars. A friend once said about Bob “parts, junk and a vision” whatever he made went to a show. Bob was never short of bringing home a trophy. He enjoyed many things: swap meets, motorcycle races, auctions, flea markets, motorcycle and car shows, and also had a soft spot for animals.
He is survived by wife, Sharon; beloved dog, Shorty; son, Alex (Arnicha) Simone of Rochester; two grandchildren and one due in September; brother, Ken (Traci) Anderson, Bellechester; sister, Barb (Dave) Mueller, Hutchinson, Minn.; mother and father, Phyllis and Verle Anderson of Mountain View, Ark.; and eight nieces and nephews.
