Robert Wright Obituary

Robert “Bob” Wright, 65, of Goodhue, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Monday, Nov. 18, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.  
    He was born in Crookston, Minn. to Edgar and Rose (Perkins) Wright on Sept. 2, 1954.  He graduated from Fertile High School in 1973.  After high school he joined the U.S. Army where he served as an Airborne Ranger.  He served from 1973 until 1977 when he was honorably discharged.  He moved to Lake City where he worked at Federal-Mogul for over 30 years.  On Dec. 11, 1987 he married Kathy Clare at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City.  Bob enjoyed bowling, softball, spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, and most of all going to Alaska fishing for halibut and salmon with friends.  From all of his adventures he gained many stories that he loved to share with family and friends.  
    He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Goodhue; children, Craig (Elise) Bruske of Pine Island and Chris (Vicki) Bruske of Byron; grandchildren, Neva, Jacob, Haylee and Ellie; mother, Rose Ranz of Fertile; siblings, Joyce Rhode of Nerstrand, Bucky (Joyce) Wright of Fertile,  Linda (Rick) Sanders of Cannon Falls, Susan (Vance) Balstad of Bemidji, Pearl (Paul) Freude of Cape Coral, Fla., Butch Wright of Nerstrand; many nieces nephews and great nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Mary Ziemann of Lake City and Diane (Lee) Lang of Theilman.  He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Elvin Wright; brothers-in-law, Wayne Clare, Delvin Ziemann, James Johnson; and sister-in-law, Pat Johnson.
    A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City is assisting the family with the arrangements.  Online condolences can be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
