Ronald Roland Obituary

The memorial service for Ronald Roland will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel with Pastor Duane Holst officiating.  
    Ronald Lee Roland, 76, of Lake City, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic Health System – Lake City Care Center.  
    He was born March 13, 1943 in Lake City to Elmer and Ella (Beck) Roland.  He attended school in Rochester graduating from John Marshall High School in 1961.   He went on to attend trade school in Chicago and earned a degree as a machinist.  On Sept. 21, 1968 he married Audrey Decker at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester.  They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 21, 2018.
    Ronald worked as a machinist for many different manufacturing companies in Illinois, Minnesota and Colorado.  In 1999, he began working at Valley Craft in Lake City retiring on May 30, 2012.
    Ronald enjoyed spending time fly fishing, deer hunting, wood working, yodeling, listening to country music, and spending time with his cats and dogs.  Ron loved to cook and create his own recipes, he and Audrey wrote “Rockin’ Ron’s Favorite Recipes”.
    Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Roland of Lake City; a brother, Kenneth (Sharon) Roland of Rochester; and nieces and nephews, Deborah, Jeffrey, Terry, Bill, Gene, and Bruce.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Richard.
    Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
