Ronnie Lane obituary

    Ronnie R. Lane, 85, passed away October 4, 2021 at the Douglas County Health Center in Omaha, Neb.
    Ronnie was born May 12, 1936 in Thurston County, Neb. to Ward and Dorothy (Berg) Lane. Ronnie served in the Army from 1955 to 1959 stationed in Germany most of that time. After his honorable discharge, he resided in Minnesota where he worked for the telephone company and helped on his parent’s farm.
    Ronnie married Aleta Funk and they had a son, David Lane, and later divorced. Then Ronnie moved to Missouri and worked for Missouri Farm Bureau for over 30 years. After the death of his significant other, Irene McLaughlin, Ronnie moved to Dakota City, Neb. in 2015.
    He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loving the outdoors all of his life. He enjoyed going to the Senior Center, visiting with friends and teasing everyone.
    Survivors include siblings: Carol Amundson, Robert (Pat) Lane, Linda (Marty) Franz, Lois (Dave) Michaelson, Kathi (Tim Hoffman) Henn, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son David Lane; sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Charles Jurgensmeyer; brother Randy Lane; and brother-in-law Lee Amundson.
