Sandra Anderson Obituary

Sandra Lee (Krenrich) Anderson, 80, of Lake City, passed away peacefully, at her home, Monday, July 22, 2019 after a short battle with Thyroid Cancer.
    Sandy was born Oct. 27, 1938 in Montclair, N.J. to Catherine and William Krenrich.  In 1953, she and her family moved to Minnesota and she graduated from St. Louis Park High School and attended night classes at the University of Minnesota while working for Prudential Insurance Company. Sandy married Sigurd W. Anderson on June 16, 1962 and they lived in Plymouth until 1972 when the family settled in Lake City to raise their three children.
    Sandy was employed at the Lake City Public Library for 14 years and worked at Wild Wings for 21 years. She retired from Wild Wings in January 2011. She was actively involved in various organizations within the community. She volunteered for the local hospice organization, the Lake City Area Arts Council, and was an active member of First Lutheran Church by sitting on the Worship Board, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, working on the banner committee and facilitating weddings at the church as the wedding coordinator.
    Sandy loved gardening, reading, bird watching and most of all, being with her family and friends. She had the most amazing faith and giving spirit and she will be missed by many.
    She is survived by son, Scott (Dena) Anderson of Lake City; daughter, Lynn (Todd) Peterson of Rosemount, Minn., and son, Greg Anderson of Paynesville, Minn.; granddaughters, Megan Anderson, Caity and Jenna Peterson and grandson, Carter Anderson; sister, Judith Carlson; many nieces and nephews; and companion, Jim Menting. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Kay and Bill.   
    A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, Aug. 2, at First Lutheran Church at 5 p.m. Visitations will take place at the church on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and one hour before the service on Friday.
