Sheila Kirkwood obituary

Sheila Bystrom Kirkwood, 69, of Lake City, passed away on June 23, 2021.
    Sheila was born in Lake City, Minn. to Marian and Arthur Sprick on Sept. 9, 1951. Upon graduation she worked at Federal Mogul in Lake City. She continued her career as lead accountant for Goodhue County Public Works in Red Wing, Minn.
     Sheila is survived by her husband John D. Kirkwood, sister Bonnie Dwelle (Glenn), niece Jodi Diekmann (Keith). 10 brother and sister-in-laws, 16 nieces and nephews, and 25 great nieces and nephews.
    She was married to Jim Bystrom, who preceded her in death as well as her parents.
    Sheila loved to vacation and travel, especially to the ocean. She enjoyed a challenging round of golf and a cold one at the end of the game. She was always ready for a good happy hour and enjoyed entertaining friends and family in her home.
    A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 30 at 5 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Tim Ehling officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are by Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson – Peterson Chapel Lake City.
