Stan Ackerman Obituary

Stan K. Ackerman, 78, of Monticello, passed away from cancer on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.          He grew up in Lake City and kept contact with close Lake City friends.
    Stan enjoyed telling the stories of his drag racing time with his team.  They won many races at local racing circuits.  He spent most of his employment years working at Mereen-Johnson Machine Company in Minneapolis.  He was married to Ferne Ackerman.  Retiring from Mereen-Johnson allowed him to spend more time with her, visiting family, and caring for his beautiful flower gardens.
    Stan is survived by his daughter, Amy (Aaron) Stellmach; son, Brian (Kathy) Ackerman of Red Wing; grandson, Logan Stellmach; granddaughter, Hannah Stellmach of Avon; brothers, Lee (Carolyn) Ackerman of Cambridge and Rick (Nancy) Taylor of Osseo; many nieces and nephews; and extended family of Ferne and himself.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ferne; father, Milton Ackerman; mother, Bernice and father, Rolland (Spud) Taylor; and brother, Gary Taylor.  Stan will be greatly missed.
