Tessica Peters Obituary

    Tessica Joan Peters, 36, of Frontenac, died Monday, March 25, 2019 surrounded by her family.
    She was born March 30, 1982 to Kenneth Huppert and Debbie Johnson in Red Wing. She grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing High School in 2000. She went on to attend Winona State, class of 2005. After earning her degree she taught elementary school in Pepin, Wis. for three years. She then went on to teach multiple grades, from pre-K through fifth, at Bluff View Elementary in Lake City. On May 3, 2008 she married Mitch Peters at United Lutheran Church and they were blessed with three children. While working she earned her master’s degree in early child development. She was a member of United Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
    Tessica was a wonderful teacher and she loved the kids she taught and coached in seventh grade volleyball. She had a competitive spirit and loved watching and participating in sports.   She also enjoyed music and dancing. She was funny, creative and excelled at storytelling and writing. She loved camping with Mitch and the kids and being surrounded by family. She will be remembered for her strength and enduring spirit but most of all for the love and care she showed to others.
    She is survived by her husband, Mitch of Red Wing; children, Gabriella and Lance; parents, Debbie (Robert) Lundberg of Red Wing and Kenneth (Carol) Huppert of Ellsworth; siblings, Shannon (Jeff) Harvey, Tiffani (Bill) Harding and Chelsey (fiancée Elliott Jensen) Huppert; grandmother; Ruth Johnson of Northfield; mother and father-in-law, Brian and Sue Peters; sister-in-law, Michelle (Eric) Nerison; brothers-in-law, Mike (Sara) and Matt (Ali) Peters; nieces and nephews, Elliot, Alex, Madey, Lincoln, Zachariah, Isabella, Sophia, Finnegan, Caitlin, Hudson, Henry, Garrett and Blake. She was preceded in death by her son, Sawyer; grandparents, Herbert Johnson, Benny and Ethel Lundberg, Charlie and Marcella Huppert, Carl and Addie Krebsbach; and niece, Petrina Nerison.
    Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at the United Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Rev. Justin Boeding officiating. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, April 1, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing and one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday.  Burial at Spring Garden Cemetery will take place at a later date.
