Emerald ash borer is destroying trees here
Earlier this spring, the Lake City City Council established the Forestry Advisory Committee to help deal with the loss of trees due to storm damage and infestation from the emerald ash borer. The committee is headed up by Charlotte Eastin and committee members include Katie Himanga, and Kathy Kruger, both foresters by training, Bruce Wallerich, from the city streets department, Dean Flugstad and Deirdre Flesche. The committee’s mission is to help educate the public about trees and to help raise funds to add to the city’s budget for tree planting.
