I am writing in reference to the opinion in last weeks paper accusing Jesse Johnson of disrespecting voters. I was concerned also, that an invited candidate didn’t bother to show up. Then I checked into it myself. As it turns out, Candidate Johnson had been in contact with both the Goodhue and Wabasha BPOU Chairmen in early June and declined to participate in debates or so called question and answer presentations. He followed up his telephone conversations with the chairmen by texts and emails explaining his reasoning, which I will not go into detail at this time.
