Boys golf in final PGA, MGA tourneys

Carter Gnotke fired an eight-over par 79 to lead the Lake City Golf Club team in the last MGA (Minnesota Golf Association) Junior Tournament of the year played on July 16 at the Mt. Frontenac Golf Course.

“My short game should’ve been better,” Carter stated after the match.  “I could easily have shot three or four shots lower, but it’s still my PB (personal best) in competition so I’m happy.”

Other local scores were Thomas Huettl 80, Riley Fritz 83, and Thomas Frank 105.  Trey Sheehan from Heritage Links in Lakeville was the medalist with a 72.
