Boys soccer drops three in seven days

The Lake City High School varsity soccer team played three matches in seven days last week.

They began on the road against Pine Island/Zumbrota­Mazeppa (PIZM) on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Lake City took a 1­-0 lead into the half, with a goal scored by senior captain Sam Mangold and assisted by Nate Baer and Ricardo Morales.

The Tigers held their lead deep into the second half but gave up two goals in the final 10 minutes of the game, final score 1­-2. Goalie Satchell Ekblad made eight saves.
