Lake City hosts HVL JV wrestling tourney
Saturday, Feb. 6 11 Hiawatha Valley League (HVL) schools brought their junior varsity (JV) wrestlers to Lake City to compete in the annual HVL JV championships.
JV tournaments include two extra weight classes at 93 pounds and 98 pounds to bring the total number of weight classes up to 16. The competition was incredibly tough in all of the brackets which led to several exciting matches throughout the day.
Lake City was led by Mason West (85 pounds) who recorded two pins and a 12-0 major to earn the first place ribbon.
