Legion team splits first two games

Lake City’s American Legion baseball team held on for a 13-11 win over Wabasha-Kellogg Monday night after withstanding a furious comeback by the Falcons in the middle innings. Post 110 had jumped out to an 11-0 lead over the visitors over the first three innings.

The Tigers scored three in the first inning, six in the second and two in the third. Jarret Thomas had three hits in those first three innings and scored twice, while Alex Scharpen and Josh Matanich had three and four RBIs apiece in that same span.
