Tennis girls win sectional opener
The Lake City Tiger girls tennis team defeated Winona Cotter 4-3 Oct. 8 in round one of the Section 1A Tennis Tournament in Lake City.
At No. 1 singles, Grace Dankers was defeated by Cindy Li 1-6, 2-6.
Ava Wallerich won easily at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-0 over Mary Schwend.
At No. 3 singles, Emily Albright made quick work of her opponent Hannah Graf 6-1, 6-0.
Ashley Thieren was in control at No. 4 singles defeating McCarthy Leaf 6-0, 6-0.
Katherine Kennedy and Hailey Meincke sealed the deal with a win at No. 3 doubles 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 over Jisu Kim and Choco Li.
