Tiger girls golf wins PI HVL meet by 41 strokes

The Lake City girls golf team captured the first Hiawatha Valley League (HVL) meet held at Pine Island Golf Course on May 4. The Tigers fired a 318 to win by 41 strokes over Stewartville 359, followed by Kasson-Mantorville 394, Lourdes 399, Byron 407, Kenyon-Wanamingo 411, and Cannon Falls 473. Triton, Pine Island, and Zumbrota-Mazeppa had incomplete squads for this event.
Lake City was led by medalist Ava Wallerich’s 76, Lexi Geolat 79, Olivia Matzke 79, and Taylor Willers 84.  Other scores included Lidia Wallerich 85 and Marah Rothgarn. 88.
