Victory over tough Byron team is Tiger girls fifth in six games

With the regular season winding down, the Lake City High School girls basketball team is playing some of their best basketball yet.

Their 57-52 road win over Byron Feb. 12 was their fifth win in their last six games. The Bears are in second place and were coming off a 94-59 victory over Rochester Lourdes Feb. 8.

“This was the best game that we have played this season,” Lake City coach Drew Olinger said. “Our girls played with a sense of urgency and played with confidence for the bulk of the game.”
