Auxiliary donates hand-made masks to Hastings veterans home

Vicky Fick, on behalf of the Lake City American Legion Auxiliary Unit 110, made and donated 90 face masks to the veterans home in Hastings. At right are the masks. Below is Fick at left handing the masks off to Susan Register in a Red Wing parking lot. On March 30 Fick received a letter from the state Department of Veterans Affairs thanking her for the donation. “This type of donation at this time is a great blessing as we have reduced many group activities because of the current situation,” Register wrote in the letter. “These masks allow our veterans to feel safer while moving throughout the home. Thank you so much!”
