Cookies and Milk Fest is Saturday

Cookies and Milk Fest is coming to Lake City Saturday, May 16.

“Join us for a fun-filled day of free activities on the banks of Lake Pepin provided by Lake City residents, businesses, and local organizations,” a poster for the event reads.

Activities are centered on Ohuta Park, though some will branch out from there.

Scheduled activities include outdoor yoga, a lakefront walk and talk, free cookies and milk, a fashion show, kids games, a performance by Prairie Street Jazz Band, a historical walking tour of the downtown, and a community picnic and sing-along.

Anne Tabat of Lake City is the driving force behind the new festival.

“This event is dedicated to simple goodness and healthy living in a city that has celebrated these qualities since the introduction of water skiing in 1922 and honeycrisp apples in the 1990s,” she wrote in an announcement for the event. “What would complete our reputation for pure, wholesome fun more than becoming the Cookies and Milk Capital of the Upper Midwest?”
