Gopher band member plays at football season’s thrilling coda

When the football Gophers of the University of Minnesota beat Auburn University 31-24 in the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla., on New Year’s Day, Victor Holland was there pumping up the crowd as a member of the Gopher marching band.
Holland, a University of Minnesota freshman and 2019 graduate of Lincoln High School, plays trumpet in the band.
Bowl games, it turns out, are more than just games for the players and fans and marching bands.
