Grants to attract workers, support entrepreneurs

The Lake City Economic Development Authority (EDA) has recieved two grants, one to help the city attract and retain residents, and one to help the city nurture entrepreneurs.

The Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation (SMIF) will sponsor the city’s participation in “Making it Home,” a University of Minnesota Extension project.

The program “uses a series of local events and discussions to create a community-wide vision for attracting new residents.”
