In grateful remembrance: Memorial Day 2019

Despite the rains falling outside, Lincoln High School auditorium seemed fuller than usual for the annual Memorial Day observance on Monday, May 27.

This year’s event featured speeches, music, and a solemn ceremony honoring local members of the armed forces who have died since Memorial Day, 2018.

Karen England and B. Wayne Quist both shared thoughts on the meaning of the day, England as the president of the First District VFW Auxiliary and Lake City VFW Auxiliary, and Quist as a retired Air Force Colonel and the event’s keynote speaker.
