Hubbard to retire after 45 years in local banking

As Marla Hubbard looks toward her coming retirement and reflects on a 45-year career at what is now Alliance Bank in Lake City, she said what she’ll miss most are the relationships with colleagues and customers, some of which have spanned decades.

Beginning as a bookkeeper, she eventually became retail banking manager after doing “everything in between,” she said.

Technology has changed dramatically during her tenure.

“When I started there was not a PC in the building,” she said. “Now all the data is in the cloud.”
