LC Memorial Day event postponed
The annual Memorial Day observance in Lake City has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Memorial Day is Monday, May 25.
The Lake City VFW Auxiliary announced the decision, reached in consultation with fellow organizers Bruce Carlstrom and the Lake City American Legion Auxiliary, on its Facebook Page.
Organizers are planning to hold an event to coincide with Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
Two other local observances haven’t announced any alterations to their plans so far.
Colin Atkinson of the Zumbro Falls VFW said he hopes they can still hold their event on Memorial day. A decision isn’t likely to come before their May meeting.
David Dose of the Millville American Legion said they normally don’t discuss Memorial Day plans until closer to the holiday.
