Walkers can learn South Oak St. history June 24

Last Wednesday evening the Walking Lake Pepin (WLP) group took a historical walk through Old Frontenac. Lorry Wendland, author of two volumes of Old Frontenac history, “19th Century Frontenac, The Rest of the Story” and “Genealogy of a Village, Frontenac MN”, led the group on the walk and shared not only the history of the well-known Garrard family but also the many lesser known immigrants who settled Old Frontenac.
