A weekend for hiking and kite making, but not ice skating

Lots of people turned out for two events in Lake City: one a winter tradition and one that organizers hope will be.
Bruce Carlstrom estimated that about 200 people attended the Lake City Lions Club’s annual lighted ski, snow shoe, and hiking event on Saturday, Jan. 27.
Hok-Si-La Park Manager and Lions Club member Lisa Quest said she thought attendance was down a little.
“We are thinking that may be because of the sloshy, slushy conditions,” she said. “But all in all I feel that the ones that came out for the event enjoyed it!”
