Chamber holds weekly COVID-19 webinars

The Lake City Chamber of Commerce is hosting a weekly online webinar with local experts and officials providing information about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Covid-19 Local and Regional Update debuted Thursday, April 2, at 4 p.m.

Guests on the first episode were Lake City City Administrator Rob Keehn, Mayo Clinic Health System in Lake City Operations Manager Carolyn Ellingson, Goodhue County Health and Human Services Director Nina Arneson, Lake City Mayor Mark Nichols, State Rep. Barb Haley, Lake City Economic Development Authority Executive Director Kjell Alkire, Morris Allen from U.S. Rep. Angie Craig’s office, Wabasha County Public Health Director Tammy Fiedler, and Lake City Chamber Executive Director Michelle Larson.

Each spoke briefly on how their organizations are managing the pandemic. Some offered advice. A brief question-and-answer session concluded the episode at about 5 p.m.

Larson said 58 people watched the webinar on Zoom and 43 more watched live on Facebook. The video has been available on Facebook and has since tallied over 1,000 views.

The webinars will broadcast live weekly at 4 p.m. on the Lake City Chamber of Commerce Facebook Page. People can also connect to the webinar using Zoom either through the Zoom app using meeting number 306 851 887 or by phone by calling 312-626-6799 and entering the meeting number when prompted (long distance charges may apply).
