Governor authorizes disaster assistance for Sept. 24 storm

Lake City could get some of its costs reimbursed related to a Sept. 24 storm that hit the city.

On Dec. 5, Gov. Tim Walz authorized state disaster assistance for Wabasha County after a preliminary damage estimate identified over $100,000 in eligible damages to public infrastructure.

Governments within the county, including Lake City, can be reimbursed by the state for 75 percent of eligible expenses, according to a news release.
