Hok-Si-La project on Walz bonding list
Lake City’s hopes for state bonding funds got a boost Jan. 11 when the sewer and water extension to Hok-Si-La Park appeared on Gov. Tim Walz’s list of recommended water and infrastructure projects.
Walz’s proposal is to fund $587,000, or about half, of the estimated $1.175 million cost of the project. The city would pay the other half.
Hok-Si-La currently uses its own well and septic system. Because of this, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency places a cap on development at the park based on estimated water and sewage usage.
