Lake City council looks for public input on Highway 61 improvements

Open houses scheduled for March 28, 29 and 30

The City Council is moving fast on fleshing out plans for improvement along Highway 61.

But it wants to hear from people before it goes too far.

The improvement project won’t take place until 2019 when the Minnesota Department of Transportation plans to resurface the highway.

But the state project presents an opportunity for the city to make other improvements at the same time. That will require some planning time.

The city wants local residents to get versed on the possibilities and then weigh in on possible choices.
