School levy up 1.7 percent

At its Sept. 17 meeting, the Lake City School Board unanimously approved a 2019 property tax levy of $4,162,028.88, the maximum allowed by law and a 1.7 percent increase over the certified levy amount for 2018.
The board is required to set a preliminary levy by the end of September. A final vote is due before the end of year. At that time the board could set a levy as high as or lower than what they approved on Sept. 17.
