The care center’s full statement is below:
“Last week, Saint Elizabeth’s received confirmation that a health care center associate has tested positive for COVID-19. It is important to note that at this time no long-term care resident or assisted living tenant has a confirmed case of the coronavirus. We are responding quickly to this situation by proactively notifying our associates, residents, and families, and taking all appropriate actions and precautions to contain the spread of the virus.
“Protecting the health and safety of our residents and staff is our highest priority. That is why we instituted aggressive screening and other infection prevention practices early on. These remain in place as important response strategies.
“Saint Elizabeth’s dedicated team of caregivers is working tirelessly to provide compassionate care and support to our residents, tenants, clients, and associates and is following the guidance and recommendations of the Minnesota Department of Health and CDC to respond and reduce the risk of exposure. We appreciate the support of our communities during this time.”
